The next meeting of Widnes SciBar will be at 7:30 pm on Wed 9th March at
the Hillcrest Hotel, Cronton Lane, Widnes.
For what I think is a ‘first’ for the SciBar there will be two presenters
rather than one; Karen Davies & Fiona Davidson of
Dav-idea
Workshops will illustrate scientific innovation in a talk entitled:-
To Boldly Go Where Innovation Hasn't Gone Before: The
Science Behind Star Trek
Inventions.
Star Trek is a great example of creativity and innovation in action. The programme writer’s ingenuity resulted in several new inventions. Some of their innovative technology, developed 50 years ago, has either actually come to fruition or is in the early stages of development. We will discuss some of the science behind the technology used and explore what ideas may be implemented in the next 50 years!
Presented by Friends of Catalyst & the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre
